George Buschman

Founder & Chief Executive

George has had an outstanding Media career spanning 3 decades. Beginning in Radio sales he worked his way up to the role of Group General Manager and National Sales head of the Triple M Radio Network before taking the first steps to media ownership, taking an interest in John Singletons Macquarie Radio. He was instrumental in rebuilding the flagship station in the group, Sydney's 2GB into the largest and highest Revenue generating radio station in the country.

In 2007 George founded Boost Media International and is the driving force behind the company’s quest to have its unique and successful revenue generation programs implemented globally.

George is based in Sydney.

Russell Tate 

Non-Executive Chairman

Russell was appointed Chairman of the Boost Media International board in June 2022.

 

Russell brings over 40 years' experience in senior marketing, advertising, media and board roles, to his position at Boost. 

 

He is currently an Independent Director of ASX-listed Collins Foods Limited, after serving as Non-Executive Chairman from its listing in 2011, through to 2015. 

Russell co-founded ASX-listed STW Communications Group, which was originally John Singleton Advertising. He spent 24 years in that business, including as CEO and Executive Chair.

 

Under Russell’s stewardship, STW Communications Group grew to become Australia’s largest advertising and marketing communications group.

In addition, Russell served as Chairman and CEO of ASX-listed Macquarie Radio Network (renamed Macquarie Media Limited) from 2009 to its sale in 2019.

David Halliday 

Director

David has a broad and deep set of skills and experience in the finance industry. He spent 13 years with Macquarie Bank, while more recently David has been a Director of Aesir Capital where he has successfully managed a series of M&A , Capital Raising and Corporate Advisory transactions. David is also Non-Executive Chairman of ASX-listed Ovanti Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Ailo Pty Ltd

David Norris 

Director

David is a highly experienced financial professional with over 20 years’ experience in board-level decision-making, investment strategies, and accounting practices.

 

David has held prominent positions in various organisations, including Director at Deloitte and is currently CEO at the John Singleton Group. His experience enables him to analyse complex financial data and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

 

David has a deep understanding of financial regulations, taxation and accounting principles, ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting. 

In his current role, David is responsible for identifying investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and implementing sound investment strategies. 

 

David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, and is a member of both the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In his current role, David is actively involved as a director on multiple company boards and private equity funds.

James Warburton 

Director

James Warburton is a world-class senior executive with vast expertise in the media, marketing, sports, events and advertising sectors in both the Public Markets (ASX) and Private Equity sectors.

 

James resigned from the Seven West media in December 2023, leaving in April 2024 after an agreed transition period as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Seven West Media after being appointed in August 2019 (just under 5 years).

 

In this time, James has restored the Networks balance sheet, driven digital to 50% of earnings, divested assets and integrated Prime to create an unbeatable National Network leading both ratings and revenue share in the market against major competitor NEC. In addition, James drove record earnings for the Group in FY22.

 

From January 2018 he was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of APN Outdoor. 

He led a significant transformation and turnaround at the company and departed in late 2018when APN Outdoor was acquired by JCDecaux for arecord-breaking valuation of 12.9x of $1.3b within a 11month period.

 

James also personally invested in Shopper Media Group (5%) alongside the two founders and Fortitude Investment Partners (PE) which was sold to Woolworths for $150m, with further earn outs. Before his appointment to APN Outdoor, James was the CEO of Supercars for five years where he drove significant growth in the sport and delivered unprecedented broadcast, sponsorship and funding deals for Archer Capital leading to an exit in 2021.

 

James has also held senior leadership roles at media buying company Universal McCann looking after some of the Nations biggest advertisers, the diverse media organisation Seven Media Group as Chief Revenue Officer for 9 years and the television company Network 10.

Tom Forde 

Director

Tom joined Boost Media as a shareholder in September 2024 and was appointed Non-Executive Director. He brings extensive expertise in corporate finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and ESG matters.

As Chief Investment Officer of a prominent and active Australian family office, Tom oversees direct investments across various asset classes, including real estate, credit, listed equities, private equity, venture capital, and other alternative investments.

Previously, Tom served as Investment Director at Tanarra Capital, co-managing the private equity division and was also CEO of the philanthropic advisory division. His earlier career includes a range of commercial and ESG related roles at BHP and PwC.

A seasoned private company Director, Tom has held and continues to hold board positions across multiple industries, leveraging his diverse expertise to drive growth and sustainability.

Merryn Vincent 

Chief Operating Officer

Merryn has a history of corporate success by driving revenue growth and organisational excellence through exceptional team leadership, staff development, operational efficiency and partner relationships. She has almost 30 years management experience having held both operational and executive leadership positions, and has specialised in providing decisive leadership to cross functional teams.

Merryn’s media career started in regional radio and has spanned all sectors - holding positions as COO of Macquarie Radio Network, Head of Business Affairs at SBS TV and Online, Head of Partnerships, Business and Operations for ABC Radio, Director of Commercial Operations at Fairfax, and Director of Sales Operations at Nine Publishing and Digital. 

As Senior Vice President for Boost from 2010, Merryn started up and built the North American business – developing and implementing the digital strategy for publishers across the US. Merryn has returned to Boost to oversee operations across all markets and ensure Boost is meeting the market and client expectations.

Robert Ryan 

Company Secretary and CFO

Robert has over 20 years’ experience in professional accounting, including financial and management accounting, taxation, corporate secretarial, audits, finance, capital raisings and business valuations. Having worked as a senior manager for a mid-tier accounting firm, Robert joined Boost in 2012 as the Chief Financial Officer, bringing extensive experience in taxation and financial management to the business. 

He is responsible for its overall financial management as well as conducting market analysis and developing strategies to maximise Boost’s profitable growth. Robert’s strength lies in his ability to work closely with the management team, understand their needs and provide commercial and practical solutions. 

 

Robert is based in Sydney.

Jamie Wood

Global Sales Director

Jamie has over 14 years experience in media, spanning out-of-home, radio, podcasting, activation, e-sports,
and digital.

 

Joining Boost in 2023, Jamie spent the previous decade leading the revenue function and overseeing local operations for two ASX-listed media companies (oOh!Media and ARN).

 

Working across multiple markets, Jamie has driven record market share results, diversified revenues away from traditional broadcast, turned around under-performing business units, and successfully commercialized multiple new media platforms. Under his leadership, two of his teams have been awarded best radio sales team in the country at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.

Jamie regularly contributes as a speaker and writer for industry trade bodies and produces one of the world's top-rated podcasts on Media Sales.

 

As the Global Sales Director, Jamie works with key partners to run revenue enhancement programs and leads the global new business function to engage and attract new partners to Boost.

Nigel Cummings

Group General Manager – South-East Asia

Based in Singapore, Nigel has overseen Boost programs in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and beyond.

 

Beginning his career with the Austereo Group in 1992, Nigel moved to television media sales in 1994. During this time he worked for the Nine Network, STAR TV in Hong Kong and Singapore and Australia Network Broadcasting. Between 2015 and 2019, Nigel was the Commercial Director of a leading entertainment promoter working on many international tours including Cirque du Soleil, Wicked – the Musical, The Lion King and the St Petersburg Ballet.

In his current role, Nigel develops and implements sales strategies designed to generate revenue for major regional media owners.

Joanne Millett

Regional Director

Joanne has enjoyed a successful, 20-year Media career specialising in print and agency sales. Jo has excelled in the disciplines of sales management, leadership and operations while working in publishing and has held several key management positions working with all three major publishers based in Australia - APN News Media, Fairfax (previously Rural Press) and News Limited.

She has been based in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Dallas Texas. While working with Boost she has managed programs in Singapore, Malaysia, India, South America, Australia and the US.

Bethany Curik

Group General Manager

Bethany Curik brings extensive expertise in media, events, and strategic business management to her role as Group General Manager at Boost Media International. She began her career at Deloitte, building a strong foundation in business analysis, before moving into the music and media industry with Universal Music Publishing Group, where she managed major accounts across the Australia and Asia Pacific region.

Since joining Boost Media in 2020, Bethany has been instrumental in leading high-impact campaigns across Australia and the Middle East, consistently demonstrating a strategic mindset and a commitment to client success. Her operational excellence and innovative approach have propelled her into her current leadership role, where she continues to drive results for Boost's key clients.

Tarnya Sim

Program Director

With over 30 years of experience in corporate and non-profit sectors, Tarnya brings a dynamic and innovative approach to driving sales, building brands, and delivering creative solutions. Her career spans marketing in tourism, entertainment, events, aged care sector , PR, and advertising, with a track record of working with leading media companies like News Limited, Australis Media/Galaxy Pay TV, Conde Nast (Vogue Kids), George Patterson Bates (Optus Vision), Local Search, and Feros Care.

Tarnya has also freelanced as a consultant, specialising in events, PR, and marketing. Her expertise includes client and project management, media negotiations, award-winning campaign ideation, film production, public relations, and community sponsorships. She is also a qualified Civil celebrant registered with the Attorney General’s Office.
